Frequently Asked Questions

  • It is not necessary with fast chargers or charging stations to charge our boats. We deliver all our boats and electric drivetrains with an on-board charger that covers 90 to 240 volt. That means that all you need to do is to make sure you have a power outlet on your boat dock.

  • A lot of people ask us about range, and that is understandable. But there are many factors that needs to be taken into account at sea, like weather, wind, currents and of course speed. That’s why we rather measure driving time instead of range. With our standard pack on the GW 601 (7,5kW power and 10kWh batteri pack) we usually say that you can get 5-7 hours of driving at sea, with mixed speeds. This will give the same boating joy as a fossil fuel driven boat for most boat owners.

  • Maintenance of an electric motor in boat is similar to maintenance of an electric motor in a car, which is minimal. The only thing we recommend is to spray the electrical couplings of the drivetrain with anti corrosion spray once or twice a year to keep everything corrosion free. Otherwise there is nothing more to do!

  • Absolutely not! First and foremost, we have chosen LiFePO4-batteries (lithium iron-phosphate) that are fireproof and safe at sea. We chose these batteries exactly for this reason. On top of that, the batteries are placed in waterproof cases. So there is nothing to worry about when it comes to electric drivetrains in boats.
